On July 10, 2020 a One-day workshop on clinical counseling and supportive psychotherapy under the tutelage of Dr. Roghayeh Nourizadeh, Assistant Professor of Midwifery, was held at the new conference hall of Tabriz Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery from 8:30 to 14:15. There were 14 participants, including fourth-semester Ph.D. students, MSc students of counseling in midwifery. and a number of faculty members of the midwifery department. The workshop was held with adherence to the principles of Covid-19 prevention and keeping social distance.

Dr. Khalil Esmaeilpour discussed in detail the basic skills and principles of counseling, supportive psychotherapy approach and its applications and he then compared it with interpretive psychotherapy approach. In this workshop, clinical examples of supportive psychotherapy were provided and for further study, “A Guide to Learning Supportive Psychotherapy With The Clinical Examples” written by Winston et al. which has been translated to Persian by Dr. Enayat Khaliqi Sigaroudi was introduced. Midwifery department workshops continue.
