Overview

The Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery, Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, is the largest academic department in the Faculty and one of the largest in the university. The department provides educational and research services to approximately 700 nursing students at the undergraduate of nursing, master's (in two specializations: Medical-Surgical Nursing and Emergency Nursing), and Ph.D. (in Nursing Education) levels, as well as undergraduate students in Pre-hospital Emergency Medical Services.
With a team of experienced faculty members – including 5 professors, 8 associate professors, 9 assistant professors, 6 instructors – the department not only supports student education but also pioneers innovative educational initiatives at both national and university levels.

Members of the department have brought numerous honors to the university, including recognition among the top 1% of highly cited scientists worldwide, winning gold medals in international medical science invention competitions, and earning titles such as Exemplary ProfessorDistinguished ResearcherOutstanding Inventor, and AwardWinner in national and institutional Shahid Motahari Educational Innovation Festivals and in cultural and Quranic competitions.Beyond their academic mission, members of the Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing have actively contributed to health policy-making by serving in various executive roles on the National Nursing Board, the Operating Room Board, and the Emergency Medical Services Board.
