Introduction of the conference
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory disease of the central nervous system that leads to a series of disabilities, including musculoskeletal system disorders, limb deformity, and speech, vision, hearing, and cognitive disorders. Although significant therapeutic advances have been done in recent years, but it is still one of the most common causes of neurological disability in young people. Due to the great variety of the course of the disease, fluctuating symptoms and continuous progress, it is very necessary to receive rehabilitation interventions from the very first stages of the disease. The goal of all Rehabilitation interventions in various fields (including physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, audiology, optometry, and orthotics and prosthetics) help these patients to maintain daily activities, efficiency, and social life in new conditions. The effectiveness of rehabilitation approaches on improving performance. And the quality of life of these patients has been shown in numerous researches, and it is necessary for the rehabilitation team members, as well as patients with MS, to familiarize themselves with the latest rehabilitation methods based on scientific evidence.
In this regard, in order to introduce and review the most up-to-date and effective rehabilitation facilities for MS patients, the Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences is proud to hold a national webinar "New Rehabilitation Methods in Multiple Sclerosis" for the first time in the country on December 23 and 24, 1401.
On the first day of the webinar, the latest researches and scientific articles in various fields of rehabilitation will be presented, and on the second day, educational workshops will be presented in two general and specialized sections. In order to train patients and specialized workshops will be held to increase the knowledge and skills of rehabilitation team members.
It is hoped that holding a targeted webinar can take an effective and steady step towards increasing the knowledge of specialists in this field and improving service to the community of MS patients.
